About me
Elyse Orecchio (she/her) is born and raised in Queens with an intense, chest-pumping pride for her borough. As a teaching artist committed to building community and exploring language through theatre, she incorporates applied theatre techniques (playbuilding, Theatre-in-Education), music, and puppetry into her work. She has developed projects for communities ranging from pre-schoolers and high schoolers to adults on the autism spectrum and young parents. Elyse has partnered with organizations including Project SAFE at Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, New York City Children’s Theater, RelationSpot, and Park Avenue Youth Theater, and has worked internationally with a high school in Ankara, Turkey. Elyse received a MA in Applied Theatre from CUNY School of Professional Studies.
