About me
Sara Berliner holds an MA in Theatre Education & Applied Theatre from Emerson College and a BA in Theatre Education and Nonprofit Arts Administration from Hampshire College. In addition to being a licensed K-12 theatre teacher in Massachusetts, she is a director, stage manager, and teaching artist. She has worked as a teaching artist with a variety of organizations, including Hartford Stage. As a research assistant with Drama Studio's Theater Readers initiative, Sara studies the ways in which drama-based pedagogy can be embedded into elementary school classrooms to support literacy and social-emotional learning. She is also interested in disrupting harmful messaging that can be implicitly conveyed by theatre education environments.
